New debit card tools make life a little easier

It’s the little things that change an okay experience into a delightful one, like a ketchup bottle with the cap on the bottom or a Don’t Walk sign that counts down the seconds until the light changes. Now, you can add your Flagstar Visa^® Debit Card to the delightful list with our latest updates, which include a few revamped tools and some new ones.

To see what’s new, sign into your account, select Cards (on the mobile app) or Manage Cards (on a web browser), or keep reading for some real-world examples.

You wonder where your money goes every month

Tap Spend Insights to learn about your spending habits and get the what, when, and where of every transaction.

• What breaks things down by category.
• When lets you compare your spending month to month.
• Where shows a map of recent transactions. Tap a transaction to see the merchant’s contact information.

You want to cut down on spending

We’ve got you. Tap Controls & Alerts and any of the options below to set limits that help you stay within your budget.

• Locations: Set up areas where your card can be used, and all other transactions will be declined.
• Merchant Type: Prevent or allow purchases by category, such as gas, entertainment, groceries, and department stores..
• Transaction Types: Allow or deny transactions online, in stores, or at ATMs.
• Spend Limits: Set a maximum for transactions, like $100, $20, or even $0.

You’ve misplaced your debit card

You know it’s somewhere nearby. You just haven’t had a chance to look for it. To be safe, toggle Card is ON to Card is OFF so no one can use your card until you find it. Then, when you find it, toggle back to Card is ON.

Your card's lost or stolen

It’s okay. Select Report Lost or Stolen, then follow the prompts to turn off your debit card quickly and report it without having to look up our customer service number.

You're planning a trip

Whether it’s for fun, family, or work, you want your card to work when you arrive. Select Manage Travel Plans then enter your travel dates and up to 15 destinations. You can do this for two trips for a total of 30 destinations.

You want to change your PIN

If you need to change your PIN for any reason, simply tap Set PIN to create a new one (after we verify that you’re you, of course).
